The first group of bowls are "Finished Edge" bowls. Do you need a unique beautiful gift for a special occasion? Here are some gift ready bowls that you can be proud to give. These bowls have unique wood grain patterns that are protected with walnut oil or a heavy salad bowl finish. Kept clean and dry when not in use, these bowls will serve many, many salads. A "Natural Edge" bowl is one that retains the shape of the outside of the log from which it was made. This shape is seen on the rim of the bowl. Some bowls made this way have a very beautiful shape. Some have wonderful contrasting colors where the "sap wood" rims the bowl and the "heart wood" colors the bottom and side of the bowl. Most natural edge bowls can be used for food serving. Some are made retaining the bark of the tree, these are decorative and must be handled with care, but can be used for wrapped candies or nuts. |
